THE BASIC PRINCIPLE
A crankshaft is driven via a frequency-controlled electric motor. The water is brought to pressure via three pistons connected to the crankshaft. With the pump series VECTRON® an environmentally friendly and energy effi cient unit for waterjet cutting has been created.
DYNAMIC CONTROLS AND ENERGY EFFICIENCY
The Effi ciency of this pump is about 90 %.
OPTIMIZED FEED WATER SUPPLY
The installed booster pump and the double pre-fi lter unit with 5 μm und 1,2 μm, guarantee optimum feed water supply.
CLOSED CONTROL LOOP
The characteristic of the cranking operation used with the three high pressure plungers ensures minimum pressure fl uctuations within the entire high pressure circuit. The actual value of the operating pressure is measured via the built-in pressure transducer. The control system thus regulates the speed of the drive motor in a closed control loop. A by pass valve prevents pressure peaks when the cutting valve is switched off. This improves the service life for all components subjected to high pressure and results in longer maintenance intervals.
OPTIMIZED PRESSURE PROFILE
The combination of a frequency-controlled crank drive and built-in pulsation damper according to Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU, with a reservoir capacity of 0.88 litres, enables a harmonic pressure curve with fl uctuations of less than +/- 1% of the maximum operating pressure. This has a positive effect on the cutting result, especially in abrasive waterjet cutting.
VALVES WITHIN THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE
The pressure release valve is installed within the high pressure line of the pump. The valve is activated via the stop button or the emergency stop circuit. A bypass valve is available as an option. This means that, if necessary, e.g. for abrasive waterjet cutting, the connection pressure can be continuously adjusted from 50 MPa.
TOUCH SCREEN CONTROLS
The pump is touch screen controlled. The VECTRON® high pressure pump is continuously adjustable between 50 and 350 MPa. All warnings and monitoring functions are displayed in clear text. Operating data are logged and can be accessed via the display.
REMOTE CONTROL SUPPORT
All important functions can be remotely controlled via client access. External connectors are available for start/stop, emergency stop circuit, bleed down valve, malfunction and operating messages. Operating pressure setting is done via 0 to 10 V signal. All functions can also be controlled via UDP protocol. This only requires a connection via a network cable. As an option, control via Profi net or other Fieldbus systems is also possible.
